About PaneSlide

A small, calm puzzle game made with care. No accounts, no downloads, no noise.

What PaneSlide is

PaneSlide is a free puzzle game you play in your web browser. The board is a small window made of coloured glass panes. Each pane slides along its own rail, left and right or up and down. Your job is to slide the panes until the window matches a small target picture.

The twist is colour. The glass comes in cyan, magenta and yellow, and where two panes overlap the colours mix the way real colour filters do: cyan and magenta make blue, cyan and yellow make green, magenta and yellow make red, and all three make black. So the picture is not just about where each pane sits. It is about which panes cross which.

How you can play

Every puzzle, daily or level, is checked by a computer search before it ships. That search proves the puzzle has exactly one correct arrangement and finds the true shortest number of swipes, which we call par.

Who makes it

PaneSlide is an independent project made in India by a very small team. The game, the art, the sounds and the music are all original and made in code. The only outside piece is the rounded font, Fredoka, which is free under the SIL Open Font License and is served from our own site.
